Best Poster Award

About the award


The Award is given out in recognition of the best contributions presented as posters at COWM2020. The Award includes a cash prize offered by the sponsors of the Conference and a certificate.


Rules and eligibility


  • Contributions must be presented as posters to be eligible for the prize
  • Posters must be written in English 
  • At least one author must register to the Conference (two authors in the case of oral + poster presentation)
  • Contributions authored or co-authored by members of the Organizing Committee are not eligible for the prize
  • Each participant can submit up to one poster as first author and any number of contributions as co-authors
  • A printed copy of the poster will be displayed in the Poster exhibition area. At least one author must be present during the Poster Session to present their work

How to participate


  • To enter the contest, you need to submit an abstract following the online procedure.
  • Guidelines for posters will be provided after the selection of contributions
  • Accepted posters must be emailed to the Organizing Committee ( no later than 31 July 2020. Posters must be sent in PDF format. File names must include the first author’s last name and first name and the code number indicated in the Notification of Acceptance (example: LastName_FirstName_CodeNumber.pdf).
  • File size must not exceed 5 Mb.

Evaluation criteria


The criteria for evaluating posters are:


  • Innovation and originality
  • Scientific quality and impact of the project
  • Poster design

Posters will be evaluated by the Organizing Committee (30% of final score) and by COWM2020 delegates (70% of final score).


Award ceremony


The two best contributions will be awarded a cash prize. The Organizing Committee and the sponsors may offer further prizes at the terms and conditions provided by this regulation. Updates will be posted on the Conference website.


In the case of contributions with multiple authors, the cash prize will be awarded to the first author. All co-authors will receive a certificate.


The award ceremony will be at the end of the Panel Discussion on 24 September 2020 (afternoon). At the end of the ceremony, award winners have the possibility to present their work in plenary session as a 5-minute oral communication.


Award-winning posters will be published on the COWM website and on the website of the sponsor.
